My work is basically a search for simplicity, silence and space.
In that search I have moved progressively from an expressionistic figuration toward an abstract, minimal expressiveness, together with a fundamental experimentation with basics of painting (format, surface, line, color, texture, structure etc.) until I reach a satisfactory result.
Inspiration often comes from landscape tones and structures as well as from liturgical themes and their symbolic colors.
Mijn werk is vooral een zoektocht naar eenvoud, stilte en ruimte.
In die zoektocht ben ik hoe langer hoe meer gegaan van een een expressionistische figuratie naar een abstracte, minimale expressie, samen met fundamenteel onderzoek naar basis principes van het schilderen (formaat, vlak, lijn kleur, textuur, structuur e.d.) totdat ik een voldoende resultaat bereik.
Inspiratie komt vaak van zowel sturcturen en tonen in het landschap als van liturgische thema's en bijbehorende symbolische kleuren.
