My work is basically a search for simplicity, silence, room and rest.
In that search I have moved progressively from an expressionistic figuration toward a minimal abstraction, together with a fundamental experimentation with basics of painting (format, surface, line, color, texture, etc.), until I reach a satisfactory result.
Inspiration often comes from landscape tones and structures as well as from liturgical themes and their symbolic colors.
Mijn werk is vooral een zoektocht naar eenvoud, stilte, ruimte en rust.
In die zoektocht ben ik hoe langer hoe meer gegaan van een een expressionistische figuratie naar een minimale abstractie, samen met fundamenteel onderzoek naar basis principes van het schilderen (formaat, vlak, lijn kleur, textuur enz.), totdat ik een voldoende resultaat bereik.
Inspiratie komt vaak door zowel sturcturen en tonen in het landschap als door liturgische thema's en bijbehorende symbolische kleuren.
